Kylie Greenan from Richmond, AustraliaWow, this is a super duper amazing image, the colours just pop, the light is beatuiful, it has to be HDR right with those tones? Nonetheless, awesome processing and .... well as always your composition is superb. 5 stars from me my friend, i love it! 29 Sep 2008 5:17am @Kylie Greenan: aren't you a doll :-) very sweet of you. And indeed, the menu looks as follows: HDR as an entrée followed by a main course of casserole photoshop actions, finishing with a frame for dessert :-) Please feel free to stop by anytime 'chez [suvni:R]' :-) cheers, my friend! Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyStunning colors and strong details make for an almost surreal picture. Wow! 29 Sep 2008 8:48am @Mirko Herzner: Thanks, Mirko. I needed an hdr for this one. Otherwise there would have been too much contrast. Of course, some curves adjustment to create a particular atmosphere. Vink from Grasse - French riviera, FranceContraste modernité/ancien assez saisissant ! Bien vu ! 29 Sep 2008 10:26am @Vink: Merci bcp, Vink. lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaThey are beautiful , that's for sure. What is that enormous building behind them? 29 Sep 2008 10:30am @lisa v: Thank you very much, Lisa. I'm not sure exactly which building it is in the background but it's located at 'place Schumann' where most of the european commission buildings are located. And I think this one is used by EC as well, but not 100% sure. I'll take a peek when I'm in that neighborhood next time :-) @Lorraine: glad you like it, Lorraine. Much appreciated. Morgane from Laroque Timbaut, 47, Franceamazing shot and beautiful colors ! the light is splendid 29 Sep 2008 4:23pm @Morgane: Merci bcp, Morgane. DarkElf from Perth, Australiathis is a fantastic photo! it has good composition, colours and light but what I like the most about it is the contrast between the old and the new architecture... really well thought out and executed! 30 Sep 2008 2:02am @DarkElf: Thanks so much, DarkElf. I was actually looking for a street with some art nouveau houses but when I saw the tall modern building standing out against those old houses, I didn't need to think very long what exactly I wanted to frame. An easy decision for a change :-) Kylie Greenan from Richmond, Australia...hmmm you are very clevery, what a wonderful dish it is... I would love to know how you processed this, it's just stunning. 30 Sep 2008 4:18am @Kylie Greenan: :-) hmm, how will I explain...I followed more or less my regular procedure for processing pictures although this routine changes a bit depending on the photo/subject. It's a bit long to explain here but if you'd like, i'd be more than happy to send you a mail with some explanation (but that will be no earlier than this weekend)...not that you need any judging from your terrific photos. And I don't want to be responsible when you start screwing up pictures like I do because of what I tell you :-) Eric Rousset from Grasse, FranceSuper PDC , j'aime bien la perspective coloré des bâtiments !! 30 Sep 2008 5:38am @Eric Rousset: merci bcp, Eric. c'est très gentil de ton part. @Bonj: thanks, Bonj! @Sandrine: merci, Sandrine! Emily Ng from Adelaide, Australiai love this photo. the big glassy building in the backgroud cant beat the character of those old houses. and then in the foreground, we have "modernity" again, lines of cars leading the eye, glassy windscreen echoing the bg building. you got the balance right - i couldnt tell it was HDR. The postprocessing complemented the photo not overwhelmed it. great job!! did i already say i love this photo? 3 Oct 2008 12:17am @Emily Ng: Thanks, Emily. So you like the picture? :-) I wanted to photograph some art nouveau houses. So I looked up some addresses and that's how I stumbled on this street, which imho is a true gem. I needed the hdr otherwise the sky would have been overexposed or the buildings underexposed. Thanks again for the visit and comments. Very kind of you. Teresa from Mountain View, United StatesWhat a great scene!!! The old and the new. 3 Oct 2008 2:13am @Teresa: thanks, Teresa! |
