some explanation for this one. It's not a crop but a stitch. Looking for a Siena picture and accidentally stumbled upon 2 pics which I took of the church ...but both were just a part of the church. So, I thought of given it a try to stitch them together. Hence the rather small height size of the posted one because technically, it's actually a panorama. Got a bit carried away afterwards with the blending and color though :-) following has been done: level adjustment, converted to BW with sepia tint, dodge & burn on 18% grey layers, brightness adjust, layer mask for the sky color burn blended with original colors, screen blended to make it a bit brighter, sandpaper texture added, curves for contrast, resized and sharpened with high pass.
For fun, I've posted the originals as well at http://suvnir.aminus3.com/image/2008-05-27.html
Still much room for improvement but it was fun to do and that way, I'm learning PS a bit. It looks better in a larger format though. Disadvantage is that I made this late at night. So probably when looking at it again tomorrow, it will look like crap and I'll regret having posted it :-)

Don't be afraid, mate. It surely doesn't look like crap ;-) I must admit: without your explanations I would have thought it is a screenshot from some medieval role play game. It looks great, though.

@Shun: Thanks! The town looks very medieval in reality as well. Definitively worth the visit. Better than Florence imho.
It's fabulous!!! I didn't know it was even possible, fantastic finish, I'll have to try this procedure...I looked at the original and wow you've enhanced it, I'm very impressed!

@Ted: :-) it's definitively something different.. but not in progress anymore..don't have the patience to redo it. I'll just take another photo to tinker with :-) Thanks for the feedback, Ted!
